Dauphine Special Event: Conference on the Georges Braque exhibition

19.11.2013

Wednesday, December 4th 2013 at 6 PM in the Henri Tézenas du Montcel Lecture Hall (amphi 5), 2nd floor of the Université Paris-Dauphine main campus

Following on the Edward Hopper conference last January, Paris Dauphine welcomes the George Braque exhibition (currently at the Grand-Palais until January 6th 2014) for an exceptional evening conference. Thanks to the Fondation Dauphine-Réunion des Musées Nationaux-Grand-Palais partnership, Sandrine Faucher, art historian and official lecturer for the RMN-Grand Palais, will help us explore the work of Georges Braque (1882-1963).

The Grand Palais exhibit is the first major retrospective devoted to Braque's work in nearly forty years. One of the initiators of cubism and inventor of collages, Braque was a pioneering figure of early twentieth century art before turning his artistic focus on the systematic exploration of still life and landscape.  The exhibition takes a new approach to Braque's work, putting it in perspective with the painting, literature and music of his time. Sandrine Faucher, our guest lecturer, will share her insights and give us a privileged introduction to this landmark exhibition.

Registration is mandatory and space is limited – so sign-up now!
