Advanced economic students at Ph.D. level, senior researchers and young professors willing to obtain specific training and lectures on major changes in Economics.
Applications of PhD students from smaller countries or less developed European regions in the Union, where it is difficult to reach the critical mass necessary to offer a high quality training programme in the field of Industrial Dynamics, will be encouraged.
Target Group : Researchers from countries of the European Union and associated states, aged 35 years or under, with special priority to researchers whose place of work is in less-favoured region, women researchers and researchers working in industry.
Formal lectures every morning, providing students with detailed knowledge on specific topics :
Theories of the Firm, Industrial Dynamics (entry, exit, firm's growth, innovation, industry evolution and structural adjustment), Innovation and the Knowledge based Economy, Spatial Dynamics.
Afternoons will be devoted to semi-structured workshops on research methodology and research tools as a continuous process of learning and interacting.

The lectures will be devoted to specific topics and will fulfill the aim to provide students with detailed (and sometimes written) " codified knowledge " about the different research dimensions of a given topic. Two lectures each morning are given by leading scholars and specialists in the field. Each lecture will explore particular dimensions of the field, it should include not only the state of the art of the discipline but also the main research questions, the policy implications and an assessment of the future directions of research. After each lecture, a lot of time for intensive discussion is planned.
Semi-directed workshop will be devoted to transfer " tacit knowledge " . The students will be divided in small groups (10 per group max.). The three first afternoons will be devoted to formal presentation by students of their research projects and the two last afternoons will be devoted to technical topics(Experimental economics, econometrics, simulations, qualitative methods, innovation survey) .
