Given current market designs, there is a growing concern that energy-only electricity markets will be unable to deliver sufficient capacity to meet electricity demand at all times.
The Chaire European Electricity Markets of the University Paris-Dauphine has thus decided to organize a European Workshop to discuss the necessity of capacity remuneration mechanisms to ensure reliable supply even under exceptional and the link between national capacity adequacy policies and cross-border trade issues in the context of European Market integration.
