Dauphine's School of Journalism

IPJ – Institute of Journalism is a respected 30-year old institution, officially recognized by the French Journalists Union since 1991.

IPJ joined forced with Paris-Dauphine's in 2011 becoming the university's School of Journalism.

44 students a year participate in the school's 2-year Masters program.

Rue Saint-Georges campus

Located in central Paris, in the historic Press and Media heartland, IPJ is also a short walk from Opéra, the boulevard Haussmann shopping district and the Paris stock exchange. 

The school occupies an renovated historic landmark building whose metal structure was designed by Eiffel. Before WWII, the building was home to the magazine "Illustration".

Journalism students benefit directly from IPJ's proximity to all of the major French media:

  • a mere 2 to 20-minute walk to L'EXPRESS, FIGARO, NOUVEL OBS, CHALLENGES and LES ECHOS 
  • 10-minutes by metro to major independent radio stations like RTL or EUROPE 1
  • less that one-half hour by metro to major television station and media groups like FRANCE TELEVISIONS, TF/LCI, BFM TV, CANAL PLUS, EUROSPORT, ARTE, FRANCE24 and RADIO France.

Cutting-edge technical facilities

Cutting-edge technical facilities allow IPJ students to train in a "real-life" setting:

  • A television studio with a set, digital production and post-production equipment and lighting
  • A radio studio with a digital broadcasting equipment and a recording studio for up to 5 people
  • A radio mixing studio with 10 digital workstations and 35 reporter's stations
