The President of the University
Chosen from among the members of the faculty, the President of Université Paris-Dauphine is elected to a four-year term by the 120 members of the three Central Governing Bodies: the Board of Directors (CA), the Academic & University Life Council (CEVU) and the Scientific Advisory council (C
MISSIONS
Le president is the chief executive officer of the university and as such he:
- presides over the Board of Directors and implements their decisions
- presides over the three central governing bodies, although he may delegate that responsibility to to the bodies’ respective Vice-Presidents
- acts on behalf of the university, signs all protocols, conventions and contracts and officially represents the institution in all of its undertakings
- has authority over the budget, all appropriations and allocations
- is the ultimate authority for all university faculty and staff; he authorizes and has the power to veto appointments and promotions
- is responsible for security and for maintaining law and order; he ensures that all university classes and facilities are accessible to disabled faculty, staff and students
