CICLas (JE 2485)
Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Cultural Identities and Languages for Special Purposes
Scientific focuses of the laboratory :
CICLaS's role is to bring together the research of linguists at Dauphine, by convening teachers/researchers from the four disciplines represented (English, German, Spanish and French as a foreign language) around common research problems.
Research is centred around two areas: civilisation and languages for special purposes teaching methods.
Civilisation research is engaged in a reflection on multiculturalism and transculturalism in the developed world, with a particular focus on their impacts in the fields of industry, business and the globalised economy.
On the one hand, research into languages for special purposes is centred around discourse analysis in the fields of the sciences of organisations, management, economics and law (reflection on terminology, lexical semantics, the study of genre and argumentation); and, on the other hand, around teaching methods with a particular emphasis on optimising the use of multimedia resources, on guided self-training and assessment.
