NOPOOR (Cooperative program)

Enhancing Knowledge for Renewed Policies against Poverty

Scientific coordinator: Jean-Marc Siroën (LEDa-DIAL)

The project aims to identify the mechanisms that contribute to sustaining and exacerbating poverty in the  southern hemisphere. It also seeks to develop an on-going dialogue with policy and decision-makers in the countries it studies in order to provide them with tools to increase the efficacy of their anti-poverty policies and work towards the UN's Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)

SHARE project (Research Infrastructure)

Survey on Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe

Scientific coordinator: Marie-Eve Joël (LEDA-LEGOS)

The SHARE survey is a multidisciplinary and cross-national panel database of micro data on health, socio-economic status and social and family networks of more than 85,000 individuals aged 50 or over from 20 European countries (and Israel). In 2012, Université Paris-Dauphine's LEDa-LEGOS research team took over the responsibility of coordinating SHARE's French panel.

ERC SAW program (European Research Council)

Symplectic Aspects of Weak KAM theory

Scientific coordinator: Patrick Bernard (CEREMADE)

This project explores the interactions between two classical tools used to study dynamical systems: on one hand, the least action principal and on the other the theory of canonical transformations (symplectic geometry).

ERC MALADY program (European Research Council)

Macroscopic laws and dynamical systems

Scientific coordinator: Stefano Olla (CEREMADE)

This research program is dedicated to the investigation of how macroscopic laws emerge from the microscopic description of a system. Examples include fluid dynamics, the heat equation, etc. "Our ultimate goal is the derivation of macroscopic evolution laws (e.g. the evolution of the local energy: the temperature) from a microscopic Hamiltonian evolution"

ERC SIGMA-vision research group (European Research Council)

Sparcity, Image and Geometry to Model Adaptively

Scientific coordinator: Gabriel Peyré

Σ-vision is a research group devoted to mathematical image modeling and in particular to contour and texture geometry. Using recent mathematical breakthroughs in image modeling (structured sparcity, geometrical representations and adaptivity) the group will develop the next generation algorithms and methodologies with far-reaching applications in both image-processing (special effects) and the neurosciences (visual cortex imagery).

ERASMUS MUNDUS programs

EUREKA SD project (ERASMUS MUNDUS ACTION 2)

Enhancing University Research and Education in Areas Useful for Sustainable Development

Scientific coordinator: Stefano Moretti

The program encourages inter-university mobility between participating European and Latin American universities by providing individual support for students and researchers who wish to spend time studying and/or carrying out research on a subject related to sustainable development.

Intergenerational bargaining – Towards integrated bargaining for younger and older workers in EU countries

Scientific coordinators: Dominique Meda & Michèle Tallard

This research project was developed in the context of the European Directive (2000/78/EC) for equal treatment in employment and occupation. Its purpose is to observe and analyze recent developments in intergenerational public policy in Europe and in particular in 6 EU member-countries: France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Research teams will study both public measures and collective bargaining arrangement in those 6 countries. The goal is to gain a better understanding of the relationship between bargaining for youths and bargaining for older workers, the opportunities for and barriers to intergenerational bargaining and to share findings with the social partners in those countries in order to facilitate and develop intergenerational bargaining.

Control of Partial Differential Equations

Scientific coordinator: Pierre CARDALIAGUET (CEREMADE)

This project addresses the subject of controlling partial differential equations  (linear and non-linear systems, stochastic systems, system stabilization, numerical approximation…) and related issues: optimal control, inverse problems, shape optimization. There is a wide range of possible application notably in the aeronautics industry, road traffic, optimal sensor/actuator location in control systems…..

The characterization of group behavior in microeconomic theory

Scientific coordinator: Guillaume Carlier  (CEREMADE)

This project is at the interface between economics and mathematics; its goal is to identify the conditions under which micro-economic theory can be tested (by a mathematical economist using real data) at the aggregate level.

Exact versus Approximate Methods for Solving Combinatorial Optimization Problems

Scientific coordinator: Cristina Bazgan (LAMSADE)

The aim of this project is to study exact and parameterized complexity and approximation in order to develop efficient practicable algorithms for combinatorial optimization for application in areas such as web services, ad-hoc networks and bioinformatics.
