Athletics and Recreation Council

The Athletics and Recreation Council was created in 2001, following modifications to the SUAPS Articles of Association; it meets once a year.

The Council’s role is to approve Université Paris Dauphine’s Athletics and Recreation policy as implemented by the Director and his teaching staff by giving its opinion on current policy and practices and making suggestions for the future.

Athletics and Recreation Policy at Dauphine

Athletics policy is defined and implemented by 2 organizations:

  • SUAPS, the University Paris-Dauphine Athletics Department, is an administrative body with its own budget, run by an elected Director and an appointed assistant.
Its mission is to define and implement Dauphine’s overall athletics policy and programs: full-time professors, part-time instructors, the course and activity offering, schedules, on and off-campus facilities and  equipment.
  • Dauphine Athletics Association (A.S. – Association Sportive), a non-profit association, is mandatory under French regulations The Dauphine Athletics Association is presided over ex officio by the President of the University. FFSU competitions are coordinated by SUAPS faculty members while events are organized by a group of 30 srudent volunteers.

Its mission:

  • Coordinate and manage FFSU competitions
  • Promote athletics to the Dauphine student body, faculty and staff
  • Encourage initiatives that further Dauphine's Athletics and Recreation policy
  • Organize recreational sporting events (Soccer Tournament, Golf Tournament, Volleyball Night, Jump competition….)
