The first year, M1, MIRO pathway, includes compulsory courses that are either joint with the first year of the MIAGE pathway, or specific to the MIRO pathway, optional courses to be chosen from the compulsory modules of the MIAGE pathway and the courses constituting the pre-requisites for the related M2 specialisations, and finally the placement.

Job opportunities are mainly located in:

- consultancies and research departments,

- operational and research departments of companies and administrations,

- computing service companies particularly those specialised in decision support,

- public or private research centres,

- public or private higher education.

More precisely, this first year leads to two M2 research specialisations: Modelling, Optimisation, Decision Support, Organisation (MODO) run jointly with the École des Mines, and IT: Intelligent Systems (ISI) run jointly with INA P-G and the Decision Support (DS) Computing professional specialisation. And, more exceptionally, it may lead to two professional M2 specialisations: Information Systems and New Technologies (SITN) and Internet Technologies for Organisations (TIO).
