According to the Random House Dictionary, Water Polo is “an aquatic game played by two teams of seven swimmers each, the object being to score goals by pushing, carrying or passing an inflated ball and tolling it into the opponent’s goal, defended by a goalkeeper. “

Practically speaking, it is a sort of aquatic handball that opposes two teams of 7 players-each, 6 flied players and a goal keeper. It is a physically and mentally demanding sport. Teams have 13 players, 6 of whom are bench, or substitution, players who enter the game from the exclusion zone, behind the goal.

A Water Polo match is divided into four 7-minute quarters with three 2-minute rest periods.

Dauphine Water Polo is played at the MONTHERLANT swimming pool, a short walk from the Porte Dauphine campus.
