French as a Foreign Language (FLE)
The offer of FLE courses is reserved for foreign exchange students at the University Paris-Dauphine.
Université Paris-Dauphine offers a French as a Foreign Language seminar from the beginning of the 1st semester (SIS) or the beginning of the 2nd semester for exchange students. The purpose of this seminar is to acquire or upgrade the necessary linguistic skills for note-taking, presentations and public speaking.
To attend one of these seminars, it is mandatory for the students to take a level test, except for beginners who have never had French lessons before. This test will determine the level in order to place the students in the group best suited to their needs.

The S.I.S: The September Intensive Seminar
- September 4th until September 14th 2012
- 4 hours per day, 5 days a week for 2 weeks
– 6 ECTS
- FEE : 200€ (to pay between September 3rd and 4th)
- Application form on our website. Deadline May 31st 2012
- Level test: September 3rd. Please arrive 15 minutes before the test, bring an identity document with a photo and a black pen.

The S.I.J: The January Intensive Seminar
- January 8th until January 12th 2013
- 4 hours per day, 6 days a week for one week
– 2 ECTS
- FEE : 75€ (to pay between January 7th and 8th)
- Application form on our website. Deadline October 31st 2012
- Level test: January 7th 2013. Please arrive 15 minutes before the test, bring an identity document with a photo and a black pen.

Université Paris-Dauphine also organizes French as a Foreign Language in the first and second semester of the academic year. The three-hour classes are spread over 13 weeks and weigh 6 ECTS credits for exchange students.
To register for the semester courses, it is mandatory for the students to have a level test except for beginners who have never had French classes before.

Language and cultural classes
Odile CHALLE (lecturer HDR of the science of the language) organizes four seminars during the fall semester to help international students to improve their knowledge of the French. These seminars will help the students with their research projects, and to adapt to the French education system.
The objectives of the seminars are mainly :
- To present a research subject, participate in debates, and stand up for themselves in front of the jury.
- To analyse articles and terminology
- To edit academic documents (thesis, articles, and reports)
