PSL has placed n°38 in the Times Higher Education's World University Reputation Rankings making it the first French institution of higher education to reach THE's Top 50.

Paris, June 15th 2017 - PSL-Paris Sciences & Lettres has made its debut in the prestigious Times Higher Education's World University Reputation Rankings. PSL ranked directly in 38th position, the n°1 French and 8th highest ranked European institution, making it the first French institution of higher education ever to have made it to THE's Top 50 world universities.

THE's World University Reputation Ranking is established based on a survey of experienced, published researchers who evaluate institutions for their research and teaching excellence (survey of 10,566 respondents from 137 countries, carried out between January and March 2017).

This is PSL's first international ranking. Not only does it position Paris Sciences & Lettres among the world's premier universities, it is also a strong indication of how successful PSL has been in gaining the recognition and respect of its peers worldwide. It is concrete proof that when several top specialized institutions with their resources and talents join forces under a single banner, they can attain a level of recognition that no French institution cold achieve on its own. A case in point: ENS on its own ranked in the 61-70 decile; in 2017, within the framework of PSL, it now figures in the top 40.

"France has moved down in international rankings these past few years, but PSL's performance in the 2017 THE Rankings shows that together, our capital's premier institutions can gain collective recognition in the international arena," comments Phil Baty, Editorial Director, THE Global Rankings.

For PSL President Marc Mézard, "Our success in reaching the top 40 of the Times Higher Education Ranking is a clear acknowledgment of the progress that PSL represents. Joining forces pays off - we see it in our research programs, in the new curriculum and programs we create, and in the innovation produced by our research centers and laboratories – and it is now acknowledged in the THE Ranking. Our success in the ranking will keep us on our toes and means that we will have to be successful in all of our future undertakings."

L'Université Paris-Dauphine, , a founding member of PSL- Paris Sciences & Lettres, is thrilled with the news.
This first mark of international recognition is the direct result of an outward-looking strategy whose horizon goes far beyond France and Europe.

We firmly believe in the quality of French higher learning and its positive impact on the global level, not only for students but also for our alumni and their careers.

The 2017 Dauphine Master's Graduates Employment Survey, for the Class of 2015, is now online.
